42 Words #31

Hey everyone,

Well it’s been an interesting week as we forayed into Sadje’s pick of 16 and the topic of identity but this week we have a new topic for you to tackle but let’s take a drink’s break and review the submissions from last week first.

Rugby43 from The Bag Lady

Dave from MMA Storytime

Now I couldn’t find Sadje’s post but I’ll point you to her site just in case its hiding in plain view.

Well this week it’s Sara’s turn to step up to the pitcher’s plate, to pull up her socks and smash one into the outfield and I reckon you might be getting an inkling of what this week’s theme is already, so before I run out of pun’s let me announce over the loud speaker that this week’s theme is …

SPORTS

Wow, what an immense topic, its bigger than the olympic stadium, its bigger than the one that got away, it’s bigger than armchair wrestling at the local nursing home.

You can go anywhere you like with this one, playing a sport, watching a sport, inventing a sport, being a good sport, sporting a new beard, sports cars,  crocheting your team’s sports beanies, or even your local sports day.  You can catch the ball, toss down the bails and score the home run but remember there is a very specific limit here … 42 words and then your time is up.

Now I love this topic but I’ll admit I got it wrong when I wrote my piece and headed off to the next prompt, but don’t worry, like a good sport, I fixed my error and rejigged my piece, so please don’t cry foul.

GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE 6 GONE
GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE
GONE GONE GONE GONE 19 GONE GONE
GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE
29 GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE
36 GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE

Here’s my take on this week’s prompt:

When godly distractions swerve off course.

“It’s just not the same now Apollo, I’ve got nothing to ricochet off.”

“You’re just losing, Zeus, there’s always Earth.”

“But Pluto was my go to …”

“It’s only planetary pinball Zeus, just release the next comet and get on with it.”
