42 Words #38

Welcome All to another week of 42 words.

This week Dave has picked a theme we can all sink our teeth into but before we open that coffin let’s first see where Ramya’s choice of the mythical 20 had taken us.

Ramya from My Musings

The Dark Netizen

Dave from MMA Storytime

Charles from Potatoes, And The Promise of More Potatoes

Sadje from Keep It Alive

Sara from Relax, It’s All Write

Now as I mentioned at the start of this post Dave has selected an awesome theme for this week but I must admit I’m a bit concerned that some might be hesitant to participate, so before the big reveal I just want to emphatically state, it’s all a matter of interpretation. Do as you like, I accept all takes on a theme.  So on that note today’s theme is …

VAMPIRE

Now I suspect there’s a few groans going on out there, vampire, that topics been done to death but I beg to differ – vampire squirrels, dracula ants, vampire squid, vampire flying frogs, vampire crabs, dracula fish, vampire tetra (a fish folks), vampire moths … and that’s just venturing into the realm of animals.

I mean you can vampire anything really but of course there is always a limit to how far one can proceed, 42 words and the garlic comes out and forces you back into that coffin but I’m sure you’re all up to the challenge.

Now onto my favourite part of each week, my plea for numbers.  Yes, I have Charles’ 15 up my sleeve but then the cupboard is bare so please post in the comments and keep the challenge going.

GONE 2 GONE GONE GONE 6 GONE
GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE
15 16 GONE GONE 19 GONE GONE
GONE GONE GONE 25 GONE GONE GONE
29 30 31 GONE GONE GONE GONE
36 GONE GONE 39 GONE GONE GONE

Here’s my take on this week’s prompt:

Warning, the challenge is in the fine print

Doreen had smiled broadly at the invitation; she’d win this one for sure.

Come as your favourite vampire, it had read.

Standing in the hall’s doorway her heart sunk as she reread the invite with a scowl, The Benevolent Society for Mosquitos.
