50 Word Thursday #92 – The Results

Ok, I picked the wrong picture when I put this post up, so sorry if I inhibited your creativity but hopefully you had something to work with.

Anyway on with the results post and remember tomorrow Kristian  will post the next installment of 50 Word Thursday, so be on the look out for that.

But first …

The Rules:

  • Find the muse within the photo or line provided and follow where it leads. It can be a story, anecdote, poem. Anything!
  • The Story must be between 50 and 250 words, in 50 word increments. (so 50, 100, 150, 200 or 250 words)
  • Link back to this post with the tag 50WordThurs so that everyone can find it, or post your response in the comments below.

And the words,

“The words couldn’t have been delivered with more force if they’d been accompanied by a swift kick to this gut.” ― Lorraine Heath, Surrender to the Devil

Ramya Vivek from My Musings

Sadje from Keep It Alive

Kristian from Tales from the mind of Kristian

Hemalatha from Frame of Soul

This is my take on the prompt:

It’s with great regret that I need to inform you that your dearly departed Father made some unwise investments in his later years.

The words couldn’t have been delivered with more force if they’d been accompanied by a swift kick to this gut but more had come.

Gone was the country estate, gone was the prosperous farms; his Father had sold it all to begin again in Australia.

Marcus sighed, recalling his dejection at the realization.

Luckily he’d not taken after his Father and the resort he’d built on the coast was now thriving.

Australia, he’d drink to that.
