50 Word Thursday #88 – The Results

Hi All,

So, Week 88 is over and we’re heading into Week 89 and I’m sure you are as excited as I am to see what prompts Kristian has chosen for us this week but first lets go see what fodder last week provided but first …

The Rules:

  • Find the muse within the photo or line provided and follow where it leads. It can be a story, anecdote, poem. Anything!
  • The Story must be between 50 and 250 words, in 50 word increments. (so 50, 100, 150, 200 or 250 words)
  • Link back to this post with the tag 50WordThurs so that everyone can find it, or post your response in the comments below.

Here’s the picture:

And the words,

“One should not allow untoward events to interfere with one’s regular habits or social obligations.” ― Carola Dunn, The Bloody Tower

Rugby43 from The Bag Lady

PCGuyIV from My Author-itis

Rhen from Breathing Shallow Poetry

This is my take on the prompt:

“One should not allow untoward events to interfere with one’s regular habits or social obligations.”

Martin pursed his lips, it seemed like a mighty understatement to him, “Untoward events?”

“The show must go on and all that.”

The other’s jovial tone was mighty annoying when one was staring at the burnt out wreck of one’s car, but it was teeth grinding when your dog had also disappeared.

“Reverend, we ain’t gonna make it to the church in time.”

“The Lord will provide, my dear Martin.”

Lighting a smoke Martin sat down on a rock, stating noncommittedly, “We’ll see ‘bout that.”
