And here is the prompt I provided on short notice,
The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared – Jonas Jonasson
This is my take on the prompt:
Martin sat down in the shelter with a frown, urban legend said this place was haunted by a hundred year old man who climbed out of a window and disappeared. It seemed a bit ludicrous to him.
If you chose to climb out a window and disappear, why would you come here and haunt this place? It was just a lake; there was nothing special or sinister about it.
Deep in thought he almost jumped when a low trembling voice spoke.
“There’s a toilet and it has a ramp.”
Martin rose to his feet, perhaps it was time to go.
