50 Word Thursday #78 – The Results

Hi All,

So, this is number 78 over but don’t forget that Krisitan will be providing the next challenge shortly on his blog Tales from the mind of Kristian but before that let’s return#78.

The Rules:

  • Find the muse within the photo or line provided and follow where it leads. It can be a story, anecdote, poem. Anything!

And here’s my submission for the week:

It hadn’t taken her long to realize the truth, survival wasn’t a game, it took vigilance, hard work and persistence and she’d been pleasantly surprised to discover that she had plenty of all three qualities.

She’d searched until she found a remote location near a river; she’d made a basic camp with a campfire of course, she’d even managed to steal a boat.  Food, water, shelter, things didn’t get any better than this.

It was only when she saw the smoke rising that she’d realized her error but she refused to be defeated.
