50 Word Thursday #72 – The Results

Hi All,

Thanks to all that contributed last week and I’m sure you are all waiting with bated breath to see what Kristian offers this week.  So let’s recap 50 Word Thursday #72.

The Rules:

  • Find the muse within the photo or line provided and follow where it leads. It can be a story, anecdote, poem. Anything!
  • The Story must be between 50 and 250 words, in 50 word increments. (so 50, 100, 150, 200 or 250 words)

And here’s my submission for the week:

Mary rubbed her arms briskly, when John had suggested hide and seek she had thought it was a game but now it didn’t seem that much fun.

There was no one around and the only sign of life was the lighthouse at the end of the railway track but instead of inspiring relief, the sight of it filled her with dread.

Turning around Mary decided she would return to the hotel, John would grow bored and return eventually.

She shivered as she stepped onto the road, unaware that the clown sighed with regret as she moved beyond his reach.
