“As she watched, Miss Tonks drew a pistol,” – M.C. Beaton’s Colonel Sandhurst to the Rescue

And here are the submissions for this week:

Michele Jones from Out of the Shadows

Rhen Laird from Cobbled Contemplations

Sadje from Keep It Alive

Kristian from Tales from the mind of Kristian

And here’s my submission for the week:

With a weary sigh George looked down the laneway, he’d known this was a big mistake from the outset.  You shouldn’t give jobs to sweet spinsters who’d never faced anything tougher than a garden spider in their entire lives but the decision hadn’t been his, his superior had been insistent that Miss Tonks take this task and proved her worth.

Shuffling his feet, George scowled, assassinations were always difficult and this target was alternatively loved and despised making it even more trying.  For an instance George considered intervening as Miss Tonks drew a pistol but then he realized the woman who had set this all in motion was watching with a pleased smile.

Her smile faded quickly though as Miss Tonks pivoted with an unbelievable speed for a seventy year old and with stony features pointed the gun at the other woman.

“Hasta la vista, baby,” Miss Tonks stated dryly.
