Some people just didn’t respect the notion of commitment; that was what she had accused him of as she packed her bags and stormed from the apartment.  It had only taken him a few days to understand her point; it had taken him nearly a month to convince her of that.

Finally, after much discussion she’d agreed to meet him, though she had stated frostily, I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

Sitting on the park bench as the rain teemed down around him Jordan scowled, he should have known better than to trust a mermaid.

Ellen tended to be insecure and worried. And it seemed as if in recent years she had mostly worried about losing her looks.

In comparison, her partner Gail had excelled in finding ways of rousing her partner from her self-obsession and her latest effort had been the birthday monument she’d created.

When Ellen first laid eyes on it she had been most annoyed but then her lips had twitched before she buckled over and roared with laughter.

“Happy Birthday babe,” Gail stated with a grin.

“Right back at you, cave woman,” Ellen responded with glee, time to plan her revenge.
