Please find below this week’s picture and quote prompts.
The prompt will appear at high noon on Thursday and close high noon Wednesday. (This will be Australian time)
So here’s the rules if you wish to participate –
1 Completed piece must be in multiples of 50 words – maximum of 250 words. Anything is acceptable – poetry, story, anecdote.
2 There will be a photo and a random phrase that I will take from the current book I am reading – you can use either or both
3 Please pingback and tag 50 word Thursday, so I can do a summary on the Thursday morning. You can either put your piece in the comments on this post or do a post of your own.
Love to have you participate and here is this week’s photo and phrase prompt.
Arthur Upfield’s Bony and the Mouse
Here’s my attempt for the week:
They had been travelling for so long that even the exotic scenes seemed mundane.
That was why she hadn’t noticed the young boy dashing past her, his face alight with enthusiasm, though in all honesty she knew that familiarity had drugged her thoughts to such an extent that her instincts had become blurred.
Her profuse apologies hadn’t mattered to the sobbing mother whose child’s bruised and battered body had been recovered from the sea, just as they hadn’t mattered to her either.
She was his nanny; she had killed him as surely as the sea.
That was the painful truth.
Thanks to all who participated last week. Check them out below:
Douglas Preston’s Tyrannosaur Canyon
Looking out the never ending horizon, thoughts of escape started to plague me. Life had thrown so much my way and I needed a place to rest my head a bit. Just for a moment. Or maybe a lifetime. But then I recalled. The one who created the breadth that measures the horizon is bigger than all the circumstances that seems like a deep ocean before me. He has my back and is always ready to fight for me. Now thoughts of hope and peace plagues me. Jesus Christ my Savior for eternity.
