“You had to take your shoes off when you went in and you weren’t allowed to jump on the furniture or tease the cat.”
From Robert Rankin’s Snuff Fiction
Here’s my attempt for this week:
The sign was explicit and in silence he considered it … who said you couldn’t tease the cat? Wasn’t that the purpose of cats?
Deciding to ignore it he went in search of the beast and set about his task but the cat just surveyed him with its superior expression refusing to be rankled and after half hour he left in a huff.
The old woman sighed, “They think I’m protecting the cat, they don’t think the warnings for them. Don’t tease the cat … it will only bring bitterness. Tabby will remain unflustered but you won’t be the same.”.
Thank you to all the participants last week, please have a read as there are some great pieces here.
Tales from the mind of Kristian – 50 Word Thursday – The Tradition
His green weary eyes, gazed beyond the familiar image as it grew closer towards his bar. He grasped. “Harry, is that you?” Anxiously placing the straw-hat on his head as the little lad skipped alongside the dirt trail. “Harry!”
“Papa!” As both shared a bear hug immensely. The old man whispered to himself, “Truly, God answers prayers.”
